Say Yes to the Dress!

I am a big fan of weddings. Plain and simple.

My favorite movie is My Best Friend's Wedding with Julia Roberts. I've cried in the Folger's engagement commercial before. The wedding part of the song Butterfly Kisses makes me teary. (I'm very sentimental also...I'm beginning to see a pattern.)

I've only been to a few before, but they were always a good time. Some of them have been from family members, ex-Midshipman, and others. I just love how everyone is happy and excited for the bride and groom.

Nonetheless, I tend to get my daily wedding dose on TLC's Say Yes to the Dress. I absolutely love this show. I was watching it yesterday and a girl and her mom were fighting because they couldn't decide on a dress, and then she tried on the perfect one and both of them started crying. It was so sweet! One of the women that works at The Pink Crab with me bought her daughter's wedding dress from Kleinfeld and it was gorgeous. I wish I had a photo of it to show, but it had the nicest shape with such pretty material.

She got married in NYC and everyone looked like they loved it. (Not to mention she wore Lilly to her rehearsal dinner...obviously!) But I can't get enough of this show. Some of my favorite moments are when the brides don't really remember their dresses and then they try them on and it looks amazing and fits like a glove and they get so happy.
Not to mention that some of the show's characters are wonderful, as you can see. I love the antics that happen on the show and how they never know what to expect, anyone remember the blowout episode where a woman tries to steal one...? Craziness!

I can't wait until my own wedding when I get to plan all kinds of stuff! It is going to be so much fun (I hope...I've heard all the horror stories!) and a great time. I hope everyone else likes this show as much as I do!

I need to watch that show. My favorite part of the wedding, just like she says in 27 Dresses, is watching the groom, while the bride walks down the aisle. So special. :)

What a cute post, I do love this show too! I have a funny story for you, it's actually a blog post that I have drafted but haven't published yet. I used to be in the bridal industry for 5 years and I was a bridal gown/bridesmaids/accessories buyer for a very well established high end boutique in Washington D.C. I had hundreds of brides whose weddings I helped coordinate over those years, and even to this day some of them keep in touch with me on FB. Say yes to the dress is a little over the top sometimes, but truthfully, a lot of that drama and emotion is real! Women are under a lot of pressure during the whole planning process and the dress is one of the most important purchases of your life!

Glad you love it too - I will think of you when I watch it from now on :) Hugs to you Katie! XOXO

I want to go there and let Randy find a dress for me if I ever get married.

It is a great show! Sometimes I feel really sorry for some of those brides. Their family and friends are brutal!

I love weddings in general! I don't watch much TV, but whenever I'm babysitting and that's on I always watch it! I have random wedding photos saved in my computer too - yes kinda crazy! Hope you're having a great weekend!
