Carolina Cup Week: The Hats

In a style a la the Kentucky Derby, the Carolina Cup is famous for it's hats.
If you're not familiar with proper hat etiquette, check here--straight from fancy derby hat capital, Kentucky!!

Super popular this year were the Marley Lilly hats as made famous by Carly at College Prepster! ML even held a trunk show here at USC for some very lucky Kappa Delta sorority sisters and other girls on campus for Carolina Cup! Here are some of my favorite ML styles:
Great colors to match any bright dress for Cup!

LOVE this style and color! I have the PERFECT shift that would match this!

Carly's hat--what a great combo!

I love the pink and navy together! I think pink and black would look fab together too!

I love this basic style, it would match just about anything. I'd put white in for the monogram and it would match the dress I'm wearing perfectly!!

I am oh-so last minute, but I still need my hat!! Anyone have any advice for where to get one? I'm thinking to head over to department stores, BUT I have two tests Thursday and that's my 100% focus until then! After work ends at 5 on Thursday I'm good to go!

xxKatie

In Kentucky, boutiques always have the best hats, but if not, Von Maur has amazing hats!

I got a cheap hat at target (for the beach). You could put some ribbons or flowers on it to dress it up!

I've found that hats are often really overpriced at department stores. Check out Steinmart, Ross, TJ Maxx, and Kohls for some great deals!

I got mine on sale for $14 and it is lovely!

I know Pink Sorbet had some a few weeks ago, they may still have some!

It is always so fun to look at the hats worn to varying functions, and pictures I've seen make it obvious that the Carolina Cup is great for hat-watching! The ones you show are *darling*, very fun and also very chic.

Good luck with the hunt for your hat, I wish I could help with a good suggestion, but I don't have any ideas!

Luckily I ordered my Marley Lilly hat a few weeks ago. I figured they would get very busy! Loving your posts on the Carolina Cup :)

I work at Charming Charlie, which is a chain of accessories boutiques here in Kansas, but we have super cute derby style hats for under $20 or $30. Unfortunately, I think the closest to you is in NC in Greensboro... but you could deff make a minitrip and get one before the kentucky derby in May!

OMG I love hats so much I just wish I could wear them all year round! I've ordered mine from VeeChay Millinery and I always get tons of compliments.
