Boo Boo

The scene of the crime!

I am more than glad to have this week in my rearview mirror! It was quite the week and I did a ton. In the midst of starting school, the clumsy girl that I am fell going up concrete stairs on Wednesday and ended up having to be in emergency care in our health center. I had gotten to our business school around 3:30ish for class at 4 and about 30 seconds after being dropped off, basically in front of the door, I fell big time and busted my big toe. I thought I was ok, but instead, sliced off the bottom of my toe. STOP READING IF YOU'RE SQUEAMISH. I started bleeding a lot (after having broken and finally ruined my Platinum Jacks once and for all) and realized I wouldn't be making it to class. A saint in the closest office offered to drive me to the health center where I wobbled in and they took me immediately. And when I say immediately, I mean, didn't get any of my information beyond my name and any medications I was currently taking.
The stairs farthest to the left were the ones I tripped all over. #wompwomp

I spent about 2 hours in the health center and got out close to 6:00, but I couldn't be released because my blood pressure was too high! Scaredy cat Katie over here heard "you might have to get stitches" and apparently couldn't shake it because they had to test my BP 3 more times before it was low enough to release me!

I had a crazy week after that big ol' boo-boo, but this weekend was a lot of fun! We had a great time, complete with additions to our ShakeWeight competition! (Yes, my apartment is home to a ShakeWeight competition) but I am ready to have all this crazy toe-injury stuff behind me!!

Have you ever done something like me? Is ANYONE out there as clumsy as I am? (Bueller....)

xxKatie

Im sorry about your toe, hope its doing better! if it makes you feel any better two weeks ago I was walking out of my bedroom and stubbed my toe so bad it bled like crazy from under my nail and was swollen n bruised for a few days! Then later on that day I smacked my face on a chair (trying to get a bug out of my face) and then hit my cheek so hard I got a bruise on that too!

If it makes you feel any better, I have fallen up those same stairs! I was always afraid of doing it and one day I did. Thankfully I wasn't hurt. I hope your doing better though!!

yes... very much so, the most recent being today when i fell down a hill moving boxes into my dorm and busted my knee open, along with getting a nasty road rash on my leg from the asphalt i landed on. My family calls me the clumsy queen because i fall down stairs at least once a semester, trip over my own feet constantly etc. So i feel your pain. Hope your toe gets better quick!

Sorry to hear about your fall. I fell DOWN some similar stairs at work once. I wasn't even wearing any fancy shoes (just ballet flats) - I hit my FACE and I had to get 3 stitches in my lip. My whole face was bruised/swollen for about a month. Luckily, you can't really tell it happened now! My manager still makes fun of me for all the paperwork he had to fill out when that happened.. hahaha :)

In college I fell on some ice and bruised my butt/tail bone, that was not fun either!
