Big Girl Bags

I use this Longchamp tote currently and love it. It matches virtually everything I own, stands up well, and has survived 3+ years with minimal damage. It's a GREAT go-to bag.

The only problem is that it's not that professional when I go on interviews, practice interviews, networking meetings, business events, and other settings where you can't carry a pink purse! That has put me on the hunt for a new "professional" (aka "big girl") bag. Here are a few of my favorites:
This Dooney & Bourke bag fits the bill really well! I love the shape and the long handles allow you to schlep it over your shoulder when it gets really heavy. I also love the color!
I love the color combo of this one as well, but I'm not sure if it's as practical as the all over cognac.
This Kate Spade bag is more of a handbag, but I'm certain my laptop would fit in it easily. I LOVE the patent which really elevates the look and feel of the tote!

Satchels are too much fun! (I always think of "The Hangover" movie though!) This one in the reviews says that it's small, but it would match a ton of stuff that I have in my closet!
I always love a good quilted bag! I wish the hardwear was gold, but this Kate Spade bag would be great! Although on the pricier side of my spectrum, Kate Spade bags hold up wonderfully and would be a great investment piece for a young professional!
Last but not least, this Zac Posen bag is my ABSOLUTE favorite! It's definitely not going to be my first "big girl" bag, but it's easily on my lust-list! It has the look of a briefcase, but the feminine details make it look much more like a bag--plus it's classified as a "satchel" too!!

For my working girl followers, what do you use to tote around your daily items? What do your co-workers like best?

xxKatie

My favorites are the black Kate Spade handbag and the first D&B bag. If I had to go with only one, I'd pick the D&B. Good luck choosing one!

I can't say enough good things about Tumi. An investment piece for sure, but well worth it. I purchased one a few years ago that's no longer on the website, but is very similar to the Sloane.

I work in the software field so the office is pretty casual and I don't need to worry about my bag too much - everyone carries backpacks to work!

However, I'd probably pick one of the black Kate Spade bags. :)

That ZP bag is gorgeous but I would probably go with the first D&B bag.

The Michael Kors "Hamilton" totes in the medium and large sizes are great big girl bags. Plus they transition great from the office to happy hour!

I have the quilted Kate Spade bag and love it. I'm not sure what metal the hardware is but it is kind of a mix between silver and gold.

I carry my navy Longchamp tote to work when I'm bring my laptop. It's hard to find another bag as big and durable!

for your first "big girl bag", definitely get something basic, especially if you're going to be going on interviews!! black, real leather, super structured, minimal hardware. there are coach & kate spade outlets in myrtle beach if you ever make it there! :)

Great bag picks, classic and timeless but ones that are still trendy for the moment. Sometimes "pops of color" are a little hard for a daily carry bag, but you selected fabulous neutrals! I hope you can stop by my blog and enter my giveaway for a pair of pearl earrings, Wednesday is the final entry day. Enjoy your week!

I have the KS bag in a cream/pearl color and i absolutely love it- it may be a hurt to your piggy bank but it'll never go out of style!

I just bought a gorgeous Kate Spade bag from their outlet. It's similar to the Kennedy bag on their website and it was only $175 despite the $400 price tag. I can use it everyday and it even hold my laptop (and charger) but it doesn't look that big. If possible, definitely try a Kate Spade outlet!

Great picks for professional bags! I personally own a black Kate Spade and I love it! Just wrote a post on professional outfits and I had to tag you in my post!

Some really great bags! While I can understand why you would want to invest in a more "grown up" or "professional" bag, I'm not so sure you need to abandon your go-to. I have a lime green bag that I use on a daily basis, including interviews. I get so many comments on it and it's away for people to remember me.
