Yum-O: Founding Farmers

So, on Thursday night a few friends and I went to Founding Farmers in Foggy Bottom in Washington D.C. for dinner. Let me tell you firsthand it is among some of the best food I've had in my life. At the table, each and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. (All the included photos are the actual food we ate, I just found all the pictures on Google!)
See that long table passed that first pane of glass? That's RIGHT where we sat!

Founding Farmers has a wonderful story of how/why they were created, if you go your server will let you know but if not check the link! They are a 100% green building LEED certified GOLD! (The only other building I've ever heard of being Gold certified is the USC Honor's Dorm and that's TRICKED OUT with green stuff like water monitors per residence hall room and crazy cool stuff like that!)

To start off we had Bacon Lollis (YUM), Cornbread (decent) and Fried Green Tomatoes (not my thing, but the peeps who ate them said they were delish).
It looks gross...it tastes heavenly. While everyone else had 1 Bacon Lolli, natch I had 2.
Cornbread and honey butter (literally honey and butter together)
I can't seem to find the tomatoes but they looked pretty standard. You get the idea. Some of the ladies were ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the "Green Goddess Dip" though!

For dinner, everyone got something different! It was so much fun to see what everyone got--they were all pretty much different kinds of comfort food:
I got the "Loaded Baked Potato Ravioli" and it was probably the best meal I've ever had in my entire life. The raviolis were filled with yummy bliss potatoes and the pasta dough was freshly made. There was a DELISH cheese sauce that was oozy and hot and perfect on top of potatoes and pasta of course. Scallions and more bacon (like I needed it) topped my dinner! T.D.F. let me tell you.
Another one of the girls ordered chicken and waffles. I tried one of the waffles and it was like the best, lightest, fluffiest funnel cake you've ever eaten. So good!!!
Yet another dinner at the table was Shrimp and Grits with a kick! They were also raved about but I didn't try this dish. It just LOOKED good!

There were 3 more dishes at the table which were combos of fish, pasta and even a Grilled Cheese and Tomato soup platter! Needless to say we all LOVED our dishes and some of us EXTRA lucky ladies got to take some of our dinners home!! All in all, it was a great dining experience and I'd highly recommend Founding Farmers!

Ever been? If yes, what did you get? If no, get your eyes off this screen and go STRAIGHT (do not pass Go) to make a reservation!!
