Happy Mother's Day!

To all the Mommas out there, Happy Mother's day! To all the kids out there, go tell your Mommas thanks and that you love 'em!

We had a delightful Mother's Day in our house, and we celebrated all day! First we went to a (super duper) early 8:30 mass and then went to a little local breakfast dive that I had never been to. It was very cute and very close to our house. We got home and then my mom opened her gifts. Here are the two we picked out:
This is the Iris Skort. It is super cute in person, except the piping along the sides is yellow. Very cute and our momma loved it!

We also got her a Murfee! It is her first one and she loved it! When we were in the store about a week ago she pointed out that she like this print, and without even knowing, two weeks before my sister had mentioned the EXACT same one! Great minds think alike, huh?

For dinner, yours truly cooked (for the first time...a real meal! Not baking and not Easy Mac or Cup O' Noodles!!) shrimp scampi! I found the recipe on foodgawker (shocker, I know!) but it had been adapted from Ina Garten, my favorite FoodNetwork chef. Here is the website I used! I didn't eat it but the shrimp people in my family assured me it was good. I got a few tips about making it next time, but my cooking confidence went up a few points for sure!! As I look at the photo now, I'm realizing I forgot the parsley...oops! Oh well, lessons learned, right?

Happy Mother's Day to all my fabulous blogging Mommas out there!!

Food Obsession!

So, let's address the fact that I haven't blogged in a week. Yikes! Sorry everyone! I've been so busy with finals and packing up my room and getting home that Le Blog has been on the back burner. I've finally un-packed everything and tried to start living life at home normally. Since I've been home though, I've been looking at a website called foodgawker.com! If any of you are food blog lovers, be sure to check this website out! I believe it compiles all the hits on different website. That means, all the most popular recipes (aka the yummiest) are organized in a massive list. I have separate files on my Bookmarks Bar for all the different food categories of recipes that I've saved: Breakfast Food (think Nutella Poptarts...), Lunch/Dinner Food (mmhmm Garlic Noodles), Dessert Food (ohh how many I have saved under here), and Snack Food (so many types of pizza snacks!!).

I am so excited to make some of these recipes! Plus, I have to learn how to cook since I'm living in an off-campus apartment next year! Here are a select few I want to try:

Ranch Pretzels by Miss Monogram--I follow her!!

Among working at the store, now I have my cooking project for the summer! If any of these come out especially delish I'll let you know for sure!!

What are some of your favorite foods?

What are your favorite recipes? Anything you'd like to pass on that I can add to my virtual recipe box?!

Hoppy Easter!! (This is a silly one...)

"What happens when a chocolate bunny becomes friends with two peeps?"

Easter s'mores anyone? (Check out that link for the cheeky description!!) Take a chocolate bunny and two peeps and you're good to go! I thought this was too funny so I had to share it with everyone! I found it on foodgawker--quite possibly the most fun website ever. They list the most "hit" or most blogged about food during a given period of time. I have an entire folder titled "FOOD" on my bookmarks bar in my internet all from FG.

Hope everyone is having a beautiful Easter, spring has truly sprung!
