Outfit of the Day: Seersucker and Sass

Shop this look:
Top (similar)
Necklace (similar)

This has been one of my favorite outfits recently! I love the way that the wedges ties in PERFECTLY with the seersucker Buttercup shorts!

One of my favorite looks for summer is a strapless top with a big, chunky necklace, so this outfit was right up that alley. These seersucker wedges are about the cutest thing I've seen in awhile, and I LOVE the way they look on. Lilly wedges are very comfortable, but definitely make sure that you have enough room in the toes. One of my other metallic pairs isn't as comfy as these ones, and they really squish my toes.

In my book, seersucker is such a fun sign of spring and summer! Seeing it all over makes me so happy and I try to wear it as often as possible since it's so seasonal. Seersucker is one of the most classic fabrics and will never go out of style.

Happy Seersucker Season y'all!

Outfit of the Day: Preppy Profesh Cropped Pants

I've written about my amazing steal of a deal blue blazer before and it's one of the BEST deals I ever got! I love my Ralph Lauren blazer and don't get to wear it as often as I should! While it's not exactly the same thing, there's a close Ralph Lauren knit match here!

I wore LOFT cropped pants for the first time too! My mom and I stocked up on business essentials and these cropped pants were part of the haul. They have the most comfortable wide band around the top with a secure button and hooks. They have a great amount of stretch and I know they'll keep their shape. The cream crepe top is LOFT as well!

For NYE, I snagged this pair of Jessica Simpson heels that I was wearing too! They are seriously the most comfortable nude heels I own and fellow Tweeters agreed. I look for every opportunity to wear these heels that I can! They're ~4 inches but you'd never know when they're on. They also have a great grippy rubber bottom that feels secure. HUGE plus, no toe cleavage.

Awaiting me when I arrived back in South Carolina was my Bauble Bar necklace that I ordered as a birthday gift to myself. I LOVE the large monogram they offer! It's substantial feeling but they clasp is EXTREMELY difficult to do on your own--attempt at your own risk! I am also admittedly not good at putting necklaces on so I found it tough. The gold is shiny and not a gaudy shade. I've worn it a bunch and I've seen no turning color or showing of the inner material.

I wore this OOTD to a pre-party for TEDxColumbiaSC. Our city was lucky enough to have a group of individuals who were willing to organize a TEDx event for the city and I had the unique opportunity to attend the lecture. The pre-party was held in the lobby of an IT office who so graciously offered up their space and we gladly networked and chatted with the speakers. I'll do a full recap later this week of the big show, but all in all I was SO glad to have attended the lecture!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Tonight is when my family does a lot of our celebrating! We'll head to mass around 6, have a late dinner (plus my grandparents now that they've arrived in town!) and head to bed to get snuggely before Santa comes. This is one of the pictures we snagged last year!

We all get a dressed up for Christmas Eve mass and dinner. My Christmas outfit will consist of the following:
Lilly Pulitzer Mallory dress that I snagged on a HUGE sale this summer!
My gold circle monogram necklace
Libby Edelman Booties
Last but not least, my Old Navy ruffle coat (which is now like 1/2 price!!)

Does your family do a big night for Christmas Eve or Christmas or both? What party frock will you be donning for the big day?

Christmas Wardrobe Staples

I wear very similar things most of the time. I stick to shapes I like and colors and textures that I'm used to. That being said, my Christmas outfit is usually along the same lines, although it does differ every year! There are a few holiday staples that you'll want to keep handy as you run from soiree to event to dinner during this Christmas season!

I am starting at the bottom, but these are actually my Christmas shoes this year! I found them at a clearance sale at the beginning of the summer at the most fun accessory store next to the store I work at, and there was one pair left in my size. I took it as fate and snagged them! I've been saving them for something special and Christmas seems perfect. They are Libby Edelman "Nalini" Suede Bootie. Find a pair of shoes that will work with multiple outfits. Stick to black and nude patent or suede!
Finding your frock is always a tough decision! I usually like to go with metallics or jewel tones. This year, my dress is royal blue and emerald (to kick off the color of the year!) but last year I wore a gold shift. I like this strapless one especially if you're on the party circuit (and it's on sale!)
I am still a big fan of my metallic Christmas dress from last year and I always look for more occasions to wear it!

Find a fun and festive statement necklace! I love this BaubleBar gold bib necklace because it can jazz up an LBD or work great with a red or green party dress! (Not on BaubleBar yet? Get your invite today!)
Top off your look with the perfect Christmas color for your nails! Tons of people RAVE about "Bordeaux" as a go-to holiday color, so clearly this is the winner!

Do you have your holiday outfits picked out? Are there certain colors or Christmas items you stick to?

Make A Statement

I LOVE statement jewelry. That's no secret--it's fun, a great way to embrace trends, and you get have an entire collection of different colors and shapes!

Pearls aren't really a "statement" necklace as much as a classic piece that everyone has. With that said, they still make a statement of class, order and professionalism. They can go great with a suit and a shirt and jeans. Talk about ultimate transition! This one from Macy's would make a great (investment piece) multi-strand that you'd have FOREVER!

You can find this popular bubble necklaces EVERYWHERE these days! They come in an absolute multitude of colors that will match any outfit that you can put together! J. Crew was the first to make the bubble, but I swear you can find it almost anywhere! This one from Bauble Bar is the best one I've seen--it's a pearl bubble that would match anything in your closet--it kinda combines the best of both statement necklaces! Need an invite to Bauble Bar? Click HERE and get started!

Enamel cluster necklaces are great statement necklaces too! While this one is a little different than my picture above, it is still among my favorite choices for sparkly, faceted, enamel cluster necklaces! The "Coco" from Bridier Baubles fits the bill on so many levels! Plus what's great about this is that you can wear it in October if your office has any kind of pink promotions for breast cancer awareness. My office lets us have some pink-laden freedom on Fridays for breast cancer awareness month!
This neutral necklace from Bauble Bar is a great addition to your fall closet! It's actually a specially curated collection from Blair from Atlantic-Pacific that is totally worth checking out as well!

What are your thoughts on statement necklaces?

South Carolina Lovin' with Maya Brenner Designs

My doorbell rang yesterday which is very atypical for our house. That never really happens. We always know when to expect visitors and our neighborhood doesn't have a lot of kids, so hearing the doorbell is definitely weird.
A small box arrived addressed to me and absent-mindedly I couldn't think of what I could have POSSIBLY ordered other than more school books!

Inside this box was a teensy black box that I opened up and suddenly remembered what had been shipped to sunny South Carolina!

Maya Brenner Designs so graciously sent me this South Carolina necklace that I cannot wait to wear with one of my outfits! I LOVE that it represents my school, my current state, and where I hope to end up after graduation! All 50 states are represented AND DC too!
You can add a diamond into your necklace anywhere along the border--if you live along your state's border you can add it right where you live!
Silver options are available too! I prefer the gold to match my daily two rings, but the silver is beautiful and goes great with just as many outfits!
MBD even has different countries!
Do you like to personalize with a letter or initial instead? Well you've got plenty of options now!

You better believe that my new necklace is going to be added to the daily rotation and plenty of Outfit of the Day's (OOTD's)!! I can't wait to style it with my Lilly dresses and professional outfits. Imagine the Gameday possibilities!!!

Go check out your state! What's your favorite option? Are you a gold or silver wearer? Which do you prefer?

Transitions!

As we start getting ready for back to school, it's important to look for pieces that will take your outfits from summer to fall. What's an easy way to transition? Accessories! I have just recently started browsing Stella & Dot. Their look is a little more refined and works well for someone in my position who's looking for pieces to perhaps use for work as well!
Sofia Pearl Bib Necklace
(this is my favorite piece offered by Stella & Dot!)
Signature Clover Necklace
Pearl Bouquet Bracelet
Ava Cupchain Necklace
Tribute Bracelet
(great for work-appropriate stacking!)
Pave Eclipse Necklace (this one's on sale too!)
Glint Flower Earrings
(this pair has a beautiful matching necklace that would make a PERFECT gift set for bridesmaids!)
Odette Infinity Necklace

A ton of these pieces have a great transition feel to them! Whether you're working on transitioning from summer to fall or college life to real life, many of these pieces would work great!

We have so graciously been offered a Stella and Dot code from Miss Lee, a friend of mine and a former Gamecock! Email Lee here to get your 25% off!

Summer Statements: Zolie Designs

Y'all know that this summer has been the summer of the accessory for me. I've bulked up my collection thanks to all kinds of sites online. I have loved pairing statement necklaces with strapless dresses and tops this summer and I look forward to integrating them into my fall wardrobe and Gameday wardrobe as well!

Zolie Designs is a great go-to option for awesome statement jewelry. Here are a few of my favorite pieces:
Pink, green, and some glitz? This has LBP ALL over it!
Pink and orange is such a great combination for summer through fall. I could see this working with the majority of my closet!
Speaking of Gameday, this could be perfect for my sister who's headed down to Auburn in under a month! Blue and orange has got to be calling any Auburn Tiger for Gameday!
This would be another awesome Gameday piece for a Gamecock, Alabama fan or Georgia Bulldawg! Just not a summer Gameday or you could be crusin' for a brusin' with a crazy suntan line. I'd rock this over a black dress and turtleneck, jumper style--a favorite cold Gameday look of mine.
Picture this necklace with a white oxford button down and navy shorts and white Jack Rogers OR skinny jeans and boots. Talk about transition!

Zolie Designs has graciously offered LBP readers 10% off with the code: BEPREPPY

There is a statement necklace to match any outfit option, summer THROUGH fall! Which one is your favorite?
