The Notebook Doodles

While I was back at school, I read Christine's (from the Sweet Seas) post "Wordless Wednesday" (obviously this is awhile back now...) and saw this photo:

At that point I had been having a bad day and needed a break, and then I saw this. I immediately took the quote from the photo and made it my facebook status to then have about 9 people "like" it. Apparently I wasn't the only one having a not so fabulous day. After seeing this picture, I saw the little "notebook doodles" watermark at the bottom of it and googled it to see what I could find.

...well I found quite the blogging/website golden nugget. Check out some of my favorites:

I exchanged emails with TND, just to tell them how cool I thought they were. Another cool factor: all the writing, isn't a font. She draws all of it, as in it's her handwriting. How cool is that? Now go check out her website too and you'll agree I have no doubt!!

I hope everyone's having good days--it's very rainy here and kinda cold...yuck!

Happy 101

I was tagged by my fellow South Carolinian, It's a Golden Day..., for the Happy 101 Blog Award! Here are the 10 things that make ME happy:

1. Seeing my family: I'm so thankful to be living with my family again! There's nothing like sleeping in YOUR bed, eating your family's snacks, and cheering on the hometown team (NAVY!) onto victory with the closest people I know!
2. Warm Weather: I haven't really realized how great the weather in SC is. I've completely taken it for granted and it hit me like a ton of bricks when I got home!
3. Being Healthy: I have a horrible cough right now that I seriously need to go get checked out (sorry Mom, you were right I was wrong).
4. Yummy Snacks: Let's face it. I'm a snacker. I don't enjoy real food. I like junk food. The first step on the road to recovery is admitting you have a problem. And I do.
5. Christmas Music: I LOVE Christmas music. It's so fun! What a better way to get into the season (besides an Advent Wreath-they're like the Catholic 25 Days of Christmas) than singing a Christmas song?
6. Wedding Movies/Shows: I'm beginning to realize that I love weddings. My favorite movie is My Best Friend's Wedding, starring Julia Roberts (so cute, see it). I'm obsessed with Say Yes to the Dress on TLC too. Weddings just make everyone happy!
7. Online Browsing: I rarely shop online, but I often will add things to my basket. Sometimes, I'll even check online to see what the store has inside to see if its worth actually going to!
8. Restaurants from Home: There are a few places that I don't have in SC that I visit every time I come home! Some include: California Pizza Kitchen, Robek's, a teeny-tiny Thai restaurant here in Annapolis called Lemongrass, a local Bagel place called Naval Bagels, the Naval Academy, our local Amish Market, and a few others.
9. Preppy Winter Clothes: I love cable-knit sweaters, Polo oxfords in any color, tights, corduroys, and ballet flats.
10. Blogging: I do love the little community that we're all a part of thanks to blogging! It brightens my day to see that I'm now connected to someone in Florida, Connecticut, or even farther away!!

I tag everyone who would like to participate. Thanks to It's a Golden Day, again for tagging me, you're too sweet!

Such an Exciting Day!!!

First OoB (Order of Business): I got my first blog tag today! Thanks to The Tale of a Southern Belle, I was tagged! I couldn't be more excited!! There are few things that make me more excited than people liking what I write. I can't believe it! Yay!

Second of all, I've recently been having self-induced phone problems. Yuck. Like two weeks ago I accidentally dropped my phone in a cup of apple juice in the car. (I gave up soda and it was from my way to school, so yes, I did in fact have a cup of apple juice in my car). The cup holder is right next to this little spot in my civic where my phone sits perfectly. Well, with the slip of a hand, there went my phone...then I picked it right up, fast fast! We (there were two other girls in the car) dried it off, and then not knowing cardinal rule numero uno of phone wetness (fyi that rule is keep all parts separate and dry battery face up and phone body face down), kept all the parts together. Well, little did I know any wetness in your phone can lead to short circuiting even if you dry the surface off. Well, today I went to the BestBuy Mobile store to get all my contacts converted to of of my friend's old phones. On my way back to the car, the bag display at Nordstrom's struck me. First in the little window was a patent yellow/straw Kate Spade bag we have at the store, so I was immediately excited! Then I looked over to one of the other racks and saw these Dooney and Bourke bags: How cute are these?! On top of their adorable-ness, they are only $135 for full size D&B bags! In looking on the website to find these pictures, they also have a fabulous seersucker bag too! Post prom, my budget will definitely have to find room for one of these puppies. This is called the "Victoria Bag" and I think it is my favorite shape. It comes in 22 color combinations so there is certainly one to match your wardrobe needs. I just love these bags! They were enough to make me go out of my walking-to-the-car path to look at them up close and inquire about the price. Check them out asap, they're good for a preppy closet!

Thanks for the tag!
