The Transfer

Step One of getting ready for school: Getting organized

How do you get organized? Well, transfer all important dates from first semester from one Lilly agenda to the next, of course!

I had the old blue agenda and then just purchased my new pink "Life of the Party" agenda two weeks ago! Since we're well into August, I figured I'd better do it soon since I've been carrying both around for a little while!

Fun events on the horizon:
Hootie & the Blowfish in Charleston with the bitties (WOOOOO!!!)
Start of school
Start of fall internship
First days of volunteering at the Visitor Center (giving tours)
Perhaps Dierks Bentley concert!
First Bingo night of the school year
Helping my friends move into their new places
Famously Hot Music Festival country concert

And that's still ONLY just August! Man oh man senior year is shaping up to be a good one!

As for today, I'm off to deal with the insurance ramifications from the bad-luck-dress-induced fender bender, figure out the extras associated with my big girl credit card (I've never had one y'all!), and more organizational to-do-list items on my list!

How do you stay organized? Have you made the switch to your new planner for the year?

On Today's Agenda

I spoiled today's post a little by sharing my photo yesterday on Instagram and Facebook, but I  FINALLY decided on my agenda for next year! August first is RAPIDLY approaching and while some may call my shopping last minute, I call it efficient--I wanted to use as many of my old agenda's pages as possible! I was between a few different prints of agendas and even sizes too!

I really liked the idea of the jumbo agenda, but I really want one that can fit in my purse. I take my on the go, to appointments and meetings, and everywhere in between. The jumbo really is too big to fit in my purse so I decided on a large size one (the mini one were out of the question--I write EVERYTHING down in that agenda. I'm a little old fashioned that way.). Then the decision came between hard and soft cover!

I ultimately decided on this soft cover agenda with the pineapples. Shortly after purchasing it and adding my monogram, I noticed the "Life's a Party" note on the cover which I think is an idea touch for my senior year! I'm in an awkward real life vs. college senior year period that I've been trying to wrap my mind around for the last few weeks and I think that little motto sums it up well. At least for a little while until things get really serious...

I may have waited until literally the LAST MINUTE, but I'm very pleased with my decision! Pink, green, monogrammed and all about a party? Sign this girl up!

Which agenda did you choose? Have you gotten yours yet?

My Summer Grind

My summer seems to have a decent pattern as of these last few weeks! My current summer essentials are:

Costa Del Mar Isabela: My absolute go-to pair of sunglasses
Lilly Pulitzer Agenda: I mistakenly thought that summer meant less plans. Nope!
Pinch: Our favorite place to hang out, Wednesdays are my fave!
CeraVe lotion: This is SAVING my skin from all my new acne medicine! I would recommend it if you have dry skin--it's TOTALLY worth every penny!
Wedges: What if I'm as tall as my dad? I've been all about the wedges and don't even care if they make me like 6'4''. That rules!
Pink Nail Polish: "Off the Shoulder" will be my next color! I bought it and I know I'm already going to like it. Wanna know how? When I got that pedicure, I got it in OTS! I tested the color out and it's a 100% match. Talk about a stylish subconscious!

While it's a motley crew of summer staples, this is what I'm living off of these days! What are your summer must-haves?

P.S.: If anyone is heading to Columbia Style Week events tonight, I'd love to meet up--tonight is a meet and greet anyway! Snap a few photos for the facebook page ;) Send me an email (katie AT letsbepreppy DOT com) or tweet @letsbepreppy and let me know!!! I know some of my Columbia readers are in town and it's gonna be an awesome week of festivities!

Let Me Pencil You In

While the last school year just wrapped up, I can't help but think about the upcoming school year. Is that a little crazy? I saw this great new Lifeguard Press academic agendas come out yesterday and couldn't wait to share them with everyone!!

Dirty Shirley was one of my favorite prints when it came out and I'm SO disappointed I didn't get that great dress when I had the opportunity! I'm excited to see the new Dirty Shirley colorway in this agenda!
Gimme Some Leg is the next one--I am loving the coral and turquoise combination! Plus flamingos are always a fun, festive addition to anything!
May Flowers reminds me of some of the other pink and green florals that we've seen on agendas, but no harm in bringing back a tried-and-true favorite combo!
A new print, See You Later, is TOO cute! I love lime green and turquoise (seems to be the overall theme in the agendas!) plus alligators! See you later alligator!
I'm of course a big fan of Skip On It, and it will always be a reminder of my 21st birthday!
Last but CERTAINLY not least, we have Ugotta Regatta! My favorite part about this came down to the detail of the porthole in the middle! I think that was such a smart, nautical addition to the Ugotta Regatta agenda!

I'm so happy Lifeguard Press debuted SIX DIFFERENT AGENDAS for this coming season! Now I've got the problem of deciding on which one I want! Which one will you order? Has anyone preordered their favorite to make sure they get it?!

Squeaky Clean

Pip-Squeaks are among my favorite school supplies!

They aren't your typical red, yellow, blue, green markers but they have awesome, fun, different colors instead! Also they're little. Which is always fun.

I have color coded my entire MONTH calendar as well as color coding SOME of my planner. I find that writing everything in pen in my agenda works best and I am able to highlight the most important of important tasks: see the 4 "STUDY FINANCE" notes I have written down in preparation for a finance test I have next Tuesday. Delightful.

Anyway, these fun Pipsqueak markers help keep me in line, organized AND colorful. Does it really get much better than that?

What do you use to say organized? Are you a color coder?

Weekly Gratitude

1. I am thankful for Bodypump. I did it Sunday night and it was a great reality check into how out of shape  (my arms especially) I am. I am making a commitment into going 3 times a week to get my bootay in shape!
2. I am thankful today is my first tour! I am SO excited to get back into the swing of things! This week will be great to finally hit my stride and get into a real rhythm!
3. I am thankful to be working! I am lucky enough to have gotten a job that I am already loving here at school! The ladies I work with have really taken me under their wings and teaching me things I haven't quite learned about Columbia yet!!
4. I am thankful that my parents are coming to visit me soon for the Navy v. USC home opener game! I got a little homesick over the weekend for   a little while and I can't wait to see them!
5. I am thankful to be reunited with my fabulous roommates! It has been so much fun to see them and hang out with them. And I'm pumped we're friends with our neighbors--it's like having 5 roommates instead of 2!
6. I am thankful that it is going to stay summer here for much longer. At first I though I'd hate it being so hot here, but no, this weather rules.
7. I am thankful I am still staying in touch with my friends from home, the summer, and even last year. Y'all have no idea how much it means to me and how grounded it keeps me. I love each and every one of you!
8. I am thankful that I have FINALLY found some decor for my room!!!!!! I have been on the lookout for something to hang on the walls and I have finally found something that I like and fits me so well! I am getting 4 11x14 posters BUT that's the only detail I am going to give y'all for now! Oh yeah, and it'll arrive with the arrival of my next paycheck! I've desperately needed something to hang to make it feel a little more like me, so this will be the perfect touch!
9. I am thankful for my calendar and agendas that were both organized yesterday!! The new calendar is hung appropriately and color coded for each event coming up!
10. I am thankful that CAROLINA FOOTBALL is right around the corner! We are 12 days away from our season opener!!

First Day of School!

Here begins another school year! Today is my first day of school! Here's what I'll be using all day long:
Lilly Pulitzer Nadja Dress
Jack Rogers
North Face Borealis Backpack (with my initials of "CAR" in hot pink embroidered on there!)

Lifeguard Press for Lilly Pulitzer Large Agenda in "Nice to See You"
South Carolina Palmetto Tervis Tumbler (filled to the brim with diet coke, of course!)

I am SO excited for today to begin! My first class starts at 9:30 and I'm in class straight until 3:15! Just like high school! I am ready to be in a good rhythm of classes and a few workout classes. I am hoping to get into a good pattern and have a GREAT semester! I'm taking a bunch of business classes and 1 health promotion, education and behavior class (my minor) so I have a great spread of topics!

Happy First Day of School y'all!

What did you/do you study in college? Are there any essentials that you can't live without?
