Quilted Coats

Quilted coats are a great staple for southern fall and winter. Clearly it's only STARTING to get cold here in SC, and my folks in Maryland have had a relatively mild winter as well. There's no need to break out my big North Face parka that has all kinds of contraptions that can zip into it to make it warmer. Instead I've been donning my trusty Lilly quilted coat from a few years ago that I snagged on sale:
I like to fold up the sleeves to a bracelet length so the floral underside is exposed!

A girl walked into the store the other day with the CUTEST C. Wonder quilted coat:
It also comes in khaki, orange and green, but she looked so great in the navy! It was slightly tailored at the back and wasn't so bulky like some quilted coats can be.
I love the red color of this Barbour jacket! Barbour is an obvious choice for jackets, and this red one is too much fun. I love this for fall Gamedays too!

LL Bean is a tried and true preppy staple. Classic lines with a clean shape, Bean quality is unmatched. Unfortunately this one isn't available online, but I'd sure be hunting for this if there was an LLBean by me!

This winter white quilted coat is the closest match I could find for my jacket--they both have belts and a diamond quilted pattern!

Do you have a go-to light jacket for before real winter strikes?

Breakin' Out the Jackets

No, it's not cold here (although I do complain about the weather often...)! I don't mean cold weather jackets. These are a different kind. They're for winners. They're usually green and highly coveted. The competition to get them lasts an entire week and resembles nothing like a reality TV show. Across the United States people (not only sports aficionados) know what they mean. They have a small yellow emblem on the pocket and are full of tradition and pride. Although sometimes they can belong to a game of a slow moving pace, these jackets aren't just given to anyone. You all MUST know what I'm talking about by now!!

It's MASTERS WEEK!

As I said on facebook yesterday, I'm so jealous of all the folks getting to go to Augusta this week! A lot of the Sports Management majors here at USC get to actually intern at the Masters since we're so close to Augusta! I have a few friends who are heading down to work it and I have a few other friends going to enjoy all the fun festivities!

Is anyone going to the Masters this week? What day? Have you ever been before? Do tell!!

Old Navy Outerwear

It's just starting to get cold around here...we're so spoiled. I'm sitting here watching TV as I write and an Old Navy commercial comes up for outerwear for 50% off! Here are my favorites online:
The name of this color...infuschion! So cute!

I really think this coat is adorable. It comes in so many colors! Both purple and orange for any Clemson girl, this would be SO SO SO perfect for cold football games! If I have Clemson readers, you should pick one up ASAP!
This one would be great to wear for Christmas or something formal! Imagine it over a black skirt with tights and super duper bright flats! It's like a built in outfit.
I have wanted a trench for as long as I can remember. This one is great and would look so nice with a lot! I can imagine this with a black turtleneck and jeans and maybe a pair of cowboy boots perhaps? Hmm, I might have to do that someday!!

Anyone snag any of these? Let me know! 50% off sure is such a good deal!

Outfit of the Day: A Year in the Making

I know I've been blowing the blog up with OOTD posts, but I thought this was a funny coincidence. I looked back at my first polyvore set when I didn't really know what was going on...it just happened to be right around this time last year! Funnier than that, the weather was CLEARLY very different.

October 16, 2009:

Notice I was wearing a quilted coat...I wouldn't dream of breaking this out yet. It was humid in fall yet again...sweaty Tervis Tumbler humid. GROSS. Instead of jeans and my Lilly quilted coat, I wore this on the 27th:

Obviously the weather was very different. It was hot, I was really much too hot in a long sleeve white tee shirt. I couldn't believe the difference. They're still calling for 70's through the weekend, so the whole fall thing in October...yeah kinda out the window...I'm still keeping my fingers crossed though.

Lucky for me though I guess is how I should be viewing it. I don't really own winter clothes, but instead wear summery things with sweaters. I'm BIG on polos/button downs and cable knits. I have 10 different colored RL button downs...excessive. Do they all get worn...easily. I stick with what I like and I treat it well so I don't have to worry too too much. I may invest in a new pair of jeans this season if Victoria's Secret puts them on a good sale and I get a good email coupon...we'll see about that though. I type this as I lay out my outfit for tomorrow...a shirtdress and Target Miss Trish of Capri flat seahorse sandals...craziness!!

Lilly Lust Choices!

I've narrowed down my ABSOLUTE must haves to these items from Lilly now that fall has been shipped and seen! In order:

1. The Finn Shift Ponte
This dress is my single favorite item from the fall collection. I am in LOVE with it. I'm keeping an eye on it throughout the season and its neatly packed in my shopping tote online. Favorite!

2. Shauna Tunic Dress Engineered

This is my second favorite dress! I love the colors and it would be great for fall and winter. I can only imagine all the possibilities!
3. Shayna Dress Lace
This dress is so pretty! The lace is so delicate and the white was nice for summer, but I love the black as a transition piece. I wish I had a formal event to wear this stunner to!

4. Sadie Dress Printed
This is such a fun dress! You do need to be kinda tall I believe to wear this though. I haven't seen the wait pulled up or made to be slouchy, but I'm sure it would be very cute! Imagine this with tights and boots for the winter! So cute!
5. Sabeline Coat Rosette

This coat is TOO much fun! I love it with jeans, but I could totally see it with a creme knit shirt and brown dress pants too with pink flats!! It is so versatile and seems like a great wardrobe addition for fall!

Be sure to enter the giveaway for this week provided by The Posh Palm!! It ends Friday!!
