Tailgate City, USA: The Dress

Your choice of outfit is among the most important choices that you'll make for Gameday! PS: How cute are all my models with their Swoozie's gear?

It's not an easy feat, but we have four FAAAABulous models all with different Gameday looks!
Jami
Jami's look is Traditional Carolina Gameday: black dress, pearls, cowboy boots and a sorority button! And she looks awesome!
Hannah
Hannah's look is Classy Carolina Gameday: patterned ruffle shift, garnet sash, black Jacks, Ray Ban Wayfarers and a sock bun! Isn't she our little Carolina Audrey Hepburn?
Jordy
Jordy's look is Cool Carolina Gameday: eyelet dress, strappy sandals, aviator sunglasses and a great garnet belt! Her look is perfect for games like the ones we've had so far when it is SO hot out!
Colleen
Colleen's look is Sassy Carolina Gameday: ruched sweetheart dress, bow belt, garnet crossbody bag, and flowery flats! Colleen's look is great when you're looking to get an awesome tan during those day games and tailgates!

What's the dress code for games at your school? Do you wear dresses or is it more of a t-shirt and jersey campus?

A quote from ESPN College GameDay sums it up perfectly:
"If South Carolina isn't the essence of Southern hospitality, I don't know what is. Those women sure know how to dress. Of course, in the South, a college football game is practically a formal event. Everyone – especially the ladies – gets all dolled up. But USC takes it to a whole new level. That football crowd is like something you would see in Vogue magazine."

Cup Dress Week: Lilly's Dress

It wouldn't be a complete Cup Dress Week if we didn't feature the most popular of all Cup options: Miss Lilly Pulitzer herself! There are ENDLESS options for Cup from Lilly and you can change it up so many different ways. I could pick and pick and pick but here are my favorites:
Adaline Dress
If I wasn't wearing the Isabel, I'd be in the Adaline in a heartbeat!
Amberly Dress
Sally Dress Boucle
I like to think this number is named after our WONDERFUL rep Sally! I'm sure it is!!
Ricci Shift

Any of these dresses with their pastel shades and popping patterns would be perfect for Cup! It wouldn't be Cup if there wasn't any Lilly present!!

Are you wearing any of these looks for Cup? Fill me in!!

Cup Dress Week: Maddie's Dress

...and by Maddie, I'm referring to Just Madras of course!!
Kimberly Dress

Just Madras has so many different madras options that give you SO many different hat/ribbon/shoes combo possibilities!

Mackenzie Dress

Plus, plaid options like the Mackenzie Dress gives your date a ton of different ways to match you! The way I'm envisioning it is: him in kelly green pants, a white button down and add a pink-and-green bowtie and YOU in the Mackenzie dress!

Ellie Dress

I love the versatility of all the Just Madras dresses! Also nice, if it's a really hot day, madras will keep you cool since it's so lightweight! Totally a plus!

Outfit of the Day: National Wear Your Lilly Day

It has been quite the Lilly-fied week for me! I think that automatically qualifies it as a good week, huh? Anyway, National Wear Your Lilly Pulitzer day was on Tuesday and it took some careful planning for what I was going to wear! I decided on my Bowen Dress from last summer because it's got everything good that Lilly makes: animals, plants, bright colors, fun fabrics, a great shape, and is perfect for the summer!

Nothing Says Summer Quite Like Seersucker!

Seersucker is a go-to fabric for the summer. It's comfy, breezy, and packs well for quick trips here and there. Girls can wear it, guys can rock it, and let's face it, a baby looks stinkin' adorable donning seersucker. What's better? My friend Madras might have a bone to pick but here are my seersucker picks for summer:
Lilly Pulitzer: Blossom Dress in Classic White Regatta Embroidery
Brooks Brothers: Seersucker Fitzgerald Fit Suit
High Cotton Ties: Walker Madras & Yellow Pincord Reversible Bow Tie

High Cotton Ties: Duncan Madras & Blue Seersucker Reversible Bow Tie
Vineyard Vines: Seersucker Patchwork Shorts

Just Madras: Caroline Dress-Girls Pink Seersucker with rick rack
(Isn't she just cute as a button?!)

Aerie: Halter Seersucker Bikini Top and Bottom (on sale)

Anyone already have their seersucker ready for summer? Gearing up for those hot days!

Outfit of the Day: Carolina Cup! (+What Everyone Else Wore)

I finally put my outfit together from Carolina Cup! I'm dragging this South Carolina holiday out as long as I possibly can, if you couldn't tell!

I've gotten a few questions about where my dress was from, and it's Lilly from the Warehouse sale! Because of that, I didn't think anyone else would have it, but much to my surprise, I saw 2 other girls with the same dress! I was in shock!! The dress that I saw, I kid you not, probably 50 or 60 times, was the Lilly Blossom Dress Printed in Hotty Pink Small First Impression:
It. Was. Everywhere. You could easily look right, left, up, down, 360 degrees around and be in spitting distance of 4 girls at any given time wearing it.
It's younger sister was not far behind.

I'm definitely glad I wore a different dress that wasn't the #1 most popular. I stuck out a little and matched my hat and everything together. I actually made my hat believe it or not! The bow started out humbly as grosgrain ribbon and it used to have a old-ladyish cheetah sash around the top. I am very proud of my handiwork and it worked out very well! Once my BlackBerry comes back to useable life, I'll upload my hat photo!!

Happy Thursday y'all! I'm heading out shagging tonight and have been feeling inspired by "The Drifters" station on Pandora! Definitely be sure to try it out--and keep your eyes out on the LBP facebook page for the Top 100 Beach Music songs I found on google a few days ago!!

Carolina Cup Week: The Dress

Well, Carolina Cup is certainly known for the wide variety of dresses. More or less, it's a sea of dresses and bowties. (Is there any better kind...?) The top choice is easily Lilly Pulitzer dresses, they're bright, colorful and eye-catching. I was added semi-last minute to the group, so I had to scramble a little to decide on what I was going to wear. I have quite the backstock in my own closet, so I decided on a dress that I've never worn around this crowd:
Now to all the people that know me, you know what I'm wearing!

However, if you don't really want to wear Lilly or don't have a fab strapless dress just laying around (or neatly hung up in the Lilly section of your closet, double clipped with another Betsey dress, both with outsides facing OUT so you can see them...) in your closet, you definitely need to check out a few other dress vendors that would be PERFECT for Carolina Cup:

1. LaRoque: Click that to check out the entire facebook album of all the Cup 2011 dresses! LaRoque is known for custom dresses, fit and tailored to YOU and YOU only. Getting one of these custom dresses is on my bucket list of things to do before I graduate!!

Check out the monogrammed sash!

Love that one shoulder!

2. Emma Graham Designs: EGD is simply taking over college campuses! Keep an eye out for LOTS of EGD at this year's Cup. The designer is even a Gamecock grad too, so obviously I have a soft spot in my heart!!

This style is the Aimee dress, don't you love how they added the corresponding bow to the derby hat? It's like they KNEW I'd be attending...

This skirt is the Dayna skirt, and for anyone who goes to UVA (read: Foxfields) definitely check out this skirt!!

Finally, this style is the Paige dress. I love the bits of blue thrown in with the yellow, what a spring-y pop of color! Think of all the shoe and accessory options that you'd have with this color combo through the spring and EASILY into the summer!!

Now I know that the dress is a MAJOR part of the Cup! What are you wearing!! I MUST know so that I know what to keep any eye out for!!
