Outfit of the Day: Pink Icicles

March 6

So, when I was packing to come home, I was NOT expecting as chilly weather as it's been! Yikes! I sure was in for a surprise! Thankfully, I keep my warmest pink North Face parka at home since it never gets cold enough to wear it at school. I've been donning it because of the chilly temps and wind! I also went to our local H&M (I desperately wish we had one somewhere close to school--while H&M isn't always the best quality, if you're in a pinch, chances are you can find something that will work for your occasion whether it's business-y, fun, or somewhere in the middle!) and picked up an awesome cardigan that I've seen floating around blogs:
Thankfully I did because I didn't bring any warmer tops home with me! I've been feeling like a total pink icicle though--so cold and in ALL pink! Kinda fun too!

While back I also found a pair of Hunter boots on sale online for $50! I had a $30 credit and so my new fabulous pink Hunter boots (also pink) were only $20!
Unfortunately, I accidentally shipped them HOME to Annapolis instead of Columbia so I had to wait like a month to finally see them! They arrived right around Valentine's Day, so imagine my wait.

So here I've been, the pink icicle! Is weather perking up for you? I know in South Carolina, we're in shorts these days and I'm LOVING it!

Jewels + Gems

I think my mom got me on this jewels and gems kick! She loves when jewels and gems are on sweaters and tops and things like that. They're like fun built-in statement pieces!

Outfit of the Day: Nautical Summer

July 10

I am LOVING my new Paley Cardigan! This sweater is the perfect sweater weight for the summer and I can add a fun shirt underneath for the fall! Such a fun transitional piece that pairs with tons! I had it over my shoulders for a lot of the day because it heated up quite a bit! The fun glossy buttons make the sweater pop and I'm excited to wear it again!!

Sale Success!!

Considering I had no idea what to expect in this year's sale, I was excited to see what it had in store! We went to it the first day but wanted no part in the waiting around for the doors to open with all the 5AM-ers. We leisurely got up, picked up Miss Skyler and headed to Pennsylvania around 8:30 and hit the convention center around 11. After 45 very quick minutes in line, we made it in! The three of us (my sister, Skyler, and  me obviously) had been peering in, scoping it out and picking a plan of attack. Do we stay together? Do we split up? How will we try things on? All necessary questions to be answered at that kind of event. These customers do not joke around! We shopped around for about 45 more minutes and reconvened to try things on. The line for the fitting room was INSANE! Instead we found a spot along a wall where everyone else was trying things on. No shame, we all tried on our items slightly shielding ourselves, slightly checking out what everyone else was trying on. We tried on tons of stuff and since we were in our own make-shift fitting room solely relied on each other to say what things looked like. Nixing about 3/4 of our bags full of Pink and Green treats, we all narrowed it down to our purchases! Here's what I managed to scoop up:

Lilly Pulitzer Warehouse Steals!

I was pretty excited! We all then headed over to checkout where we ran into Mr. Pink and Green himself, Scott who was directing everyone to 1 of 30 or so checkout registers. We promptly headed to register #2 and checked out, making some smalltalk with the WONDERFUL workers at the sale! They were so chipper and friendly for being there since 4:30am! I couldn't believe it, I would have been famished! They helped us grab all our items and see us out.

All in all we had a wildly successful day and each of us walked away with a few new wardrobe additions! What did y'all get? What times did you go, and what how long did you have to wait in line?

Good luck to everyone going on days 2 and 3!!

Outfit of the Day: Argyle for Fall

I pulled out one of my favorite sweaters all full of argyle! It's Lilly from a few seasons ago (the one in the picture wasn't EXACTLY the same, but sometimes older things are harder to find on Polyvore.) I LOVE the sweater though! I've worn it a few times:

(a little awkward, but you get the idea...)
Here's a big one of my extended fam! We all look a LOT alike.

Definitely a big argyle fan! Anyone else out there one too? Too much fun!!

Big Clean and a Glimpse of My Closet

It's officially November (and we're still in shorts...) and so I did a HUGE clean of my room and organized my closet. I brought out my fall-winter-ish stuff and hung it all up. I had to make my way over to Target to get some hangers and hanger clips for skirts and stuff. I've never done one of these posts, but this is what my closet looks like:
(sorry about the graininess it's from my phone...my camera's downstairs and I'm pretty lazy tonight)
Everything is finally hanging up. I think I have over 100 hangers in there. In order:
1. Black dresses
2. Fall dresses
3. Lilly dresses
4. Knit dresses (mainly VS and American Apparel)
5. Summer going out tops
6. Summer skirts (VV and Lilly and some Target)
7. Fall skirts
8. Fall going out tops/turtle necks/rugbies
9. Blazers
10. Oxfords
11. Sweaters
12. Work/VC Clothes

The bottom of the closet is my accessories holder and my laundry (sorry...that's a little gross that I included that), and then my shoes are in my storage closet. That also has my coats, workout clothes and pajamas! I thought I'd do my own closet post since it's quite popular!

Forever 21 a la Lilly?

I love the Shirley Sweater Coat that Lilly has for this season. In the past few lines, LP has has a sweater similar to this in all kinds of different colors depending on the prints that go along with that season. For fall LP put out white, pink salmon, shorely blue, and true navy for $168. There's also a larger version in a cable knit:

This Shere Cable Sweater Coat is quite too, but for $368 is far out of my price range. Even $168 is more than my monthly budget for extra spending that I allot myself. When I was shopping in Charlotte in forever21, I saw this adorable cardigan:

The ruffle detail is very hard to see, but this sweater looks EXACTLY like the Shirley Sweater Coat.

It's a little more clear in the creme color. Best part of all...just wait...this sweater was $13.50! The Medium fit my arms perfectly and these two sweaters will be great additions to my closet for fall as well as working at school. They're great neutrals that will match a lot. I think the creme one will look great with a great pair of dark jeans and with a brown belt that matches my Bandolino boots:

I couldn't get over how similar the two sweaters were and I never expected a store like forever21 to take cues from Lilly!!

Smoochin' Seahorses!

After perusing my DailyCandy email a few days ago, they had a special on this brand: Seaton. I couldn't help myself with such a cute icon like they have!! This was the adorable cashmere cardigan that really got me:
Pink + Seahorses + Smooches = Adorable. I almost can't deal with all the cuteness in one!!

Flashback: I wore these shoes to my High School graduation and they were a hit! Imagine the combo of the Seaton Smoochin' Seahorses (I think they should adopt that as a new name for the concept!) and these fab Kate Spade shoes!? However, the adorable designs don't stop there:

How pretty is this blue with the seahorses?

LOVE the khaki and hot pink combo! I mean how classic: a boyfriend cardigan with a great accoutrement on the back!!

Any starfish lovers out there? Pair this with a crisp white T-shirt and white shorts! It's the perfect outfit for a night at the beach!

Old Navy Finds!!

Hey everyone, my apologies for not being a good blogger recently. I've been working on a campaign for a very good friend of mine who is running for the student body president! If any of you Twitter, you'll know my twitters are all about helping out this friend of mine! I'm the manager of his schedule so I have been emailing and contacting 24/7 (literally). I get back to my dorm and fall asleep rather quickly these days, which isn't behavior conducive to blogging! My dad is visiting me too this weekend which I am SO HAPPY about! The last time he was here was for MOVE-IN! Tonight he took me and 3 of my favorite people here at school out to dinner which was a great time! He finally got to meet all the people I talk about and my fabulous roommate for next year (oh hey Megan!)!! We all had a great time goofing off and eating more pizza than I'd like to think about!

But, recently however, I've ordered a few things from Old Navy that look like they could be from J. Crew which I was thrilled about! I'm really beginning to think that they use the same color palates or very similar ones and have very similar--but much more inexpensive--designs! I got a gift card to Banana Republic which can be redeemed at any of the 5 stores in the Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic group for Christmas so I found some items that I couldn't pass up!! Here are a few of the things I've purchased for my spring wardrobe:

This color is so very J. Crew! With all their neutral colors, I couldn't help but snag one for myself!

I feel like this poppy color is very Crew too! They always have a vibrant orange, especially for spring. I also love the ruffle detail along the collar. I have some great 5'' chino shorts that this sweater will be perfect with! I also have this in the "Cream of Artichoke" color, a super pale green that will look great too!

I love this sweater! Of all of the ones posted here, this one is great! You have to touch it though to get the full package. Aside from my cashmere argyle sweater, hands down this is the softest sweater that I own! Not to mention, I'm ecstatic that the Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic online shopping has a "TALL" option, because the cuts are great for me. The shoulders are wider, the arm holes are lower and the sleeves are longer. The sleeve problem is the worst problem I seem to face when trying to buy sweaters and cardi's because I end up having to buy a large or XL just so the arms are long enough!

I also grabbed two shirts from Gap. I rarely shop at Gap because I think their prices are too high for the quality sometimes (I think in the recent years their quality has gone down from what it used to be). I also have a very hard time finding my size in the store in my local mall at home, but I've been searching for a nice ruffled tank. I think they look SO pretty layered with sweaters. I found a great one at Gap.com and I found an online coupon code that got me 20% off full priced items online at Gap, so I decided to get this tank in the Oak color and in white:

It was just what I was looking for, not to mention the length is SO perfect for me. A medium tall is great for a girl with my build!! I am so excited to bring this stuff with me for spring break...as far away as that is. It is fun though to think about what I can wear all these things with!! I hope that you are all dreaming of spring!

I promise that I'll be back and commenting away as soon as I find the time!!
