Technology Tuesday

When I was in the Charlotte Airport, I Instagrammed this picture that garnered a HUGE response from everyone!

A lot of y'all thought I did it myself, and it's 1/2 DIY, 1/2 store-bought...kinda like that old Food Network show "Semi-Homemade". Anyway, I made the design myself, picked out the colors and used a monogram to add a little pizzaz to my computer so it wasn't as boring as everyone else's silver MacBooks all over campus.

This Jubilee print is one of my favorites that Lilly ever came out with so I knew it would be PERFECT for my computer. Plus it wasn't only two or three colors so I wouldn't get sick of seeing it all the time!

I used a website that is now unfortunately gone! I can't find them, maybe they have a new name or something! (I know a friend of mine had less success than I did so maybe it was shoddy to begin with, perhaps?) They let you upload a picture to their server and add in your details. I got mine in November of 2009 and it is still FULLY intact. There are a few Katie-instigated dings in it, but they're fully my fault. The sticker also comes completely off cleanly which is great too! At the time, I also had a matching one for my phone but that didn't survive the battery I put my phone through!

I took my computer from this:
To this:

If I can find that site, I will be sure to post it on my facebook page so y'all can make your own!

For now, just look up computer skins and see if you can find any services that let you upload your own image! Go from there and voila!

Happy Technology Tuesday!

My Computer Advice

I get a lot of questions about my computer:
I got it from a website called uniqueskins.com! You can find my detailed post here all the way from November of 2009. I still have the same cover on my computer and definitely recommend the company. I didn't really want to buy a super expensive hard top cover, so instead I looked around to find this option. You can google or use different websites to find your favorite print and then with an easy upload you can add/move/copy/paste it all around on the workspace provided in the website! It's literally as easy as 1-2-3! They're not expensive and everyone here at school who's used the same website have been able to find a good coupon code online!

If anyone needs one of these covers for any piece of technology: iPod, iPhone, smartphone, iPad, computer, laptop, Nook/Kindle, anything, I'd definitely try these! You can even coordinate all of your different items to match! At one point, my old phone had a matching cover on it too:

Such a fun DIY (sorta)! Naturally I chose my favorite Lilly print from Jubilee Resort and couldn't be happier to still have it! I haven't gotten sick of it because there are so many colors and options. My desktop on the inside of my computer even has a shade of pink that matches the outside. Be sure to play around a little to perfect your design!

This is in My Top 5 Lilly Prints Ever

The Multi Jubliee Patch is quite possibly one of my favorite Lilly prints ever. On the Lilly website it says: This is the largest patch pattern we've ever done. The idea just popped into our heads after, well, after looking at a Lilly wrap skirt in 8" patch from 1968. The washed down fabric with soft, faded colors "sews" the whole Lilly spirit together.

It's actually the cover on my laptop still:
I haven't gotten sick of it at all I think because there are so many colors. I'm seeing more and more of this print pop up different places:
If you're a boy and wear a 36 or 42, or any size between 30-42 I have two places online that these shorts are available! Click the numbers to find them!

Saw these on eBay! I wish I knew someone who'd wear them, they're so much fun for any guy who's a 38R! They're also online here! I have a pair of Lilly pants from many years back (circa 8th grade...) that I still wear. It was the same year as Elefrance because that print's on my pants as well as Bon Bon!
If that doesn't say Carolina Cup, I don't know what does. Now I don't condone wearing the pants and Charles Blazer together, but what a piece this would be to have in your man's closet.

Don't you just love this print too! I wish I could get my hands on even more of it!!!

Happy Birthday Lilly! AND HUGE LILLY NEWS!

Today is Lilly's birthday! Happy 78th!

ALSO BIG NEWS: Lilly Pulitzer is going to have their first online sale in TWO DAYS. I believe its a gigantic Jubilee sale that starts staggered from 7am-11am. If you're a facebook fan (which you should be A-SAP) you get to see everything they'll have at 7am. I will be up BRIGHT and early before my 8am class that day!

It is 4 Days Only, but I know it will last WAY shorter than that! All of us who are facebook fans will be getting the cream of the crop right at 7am! There are like 3 Jubilee items that I have SEVERE buyer's remorse that I didn't buy, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they might just be there for me! Maybe I'll snag something early and make it "an early Christmas present" for myself (how does that sound, mom?)! Make sure that you join on facebook to get to see everything that is available especially if you're sizes 4-8, which seems to sell out the fastest at my store!

Best Purchase Recently

So on the Lilly facbeook page, some woman posted a photo of her Blackberry Pearl Lilly-fied. It was wonderful and had many many comments! I am SO excited to say that I took the initiative of making her project my own and transformed:

this plus this

As well as turning this:

All this is thanks to uniqueskins.com. They have no idea how popular they are about to get thanks to the lady who Fall 2009 Lilly-fied her Blackberry! She should work for them!!

Grace, if you ever read my blog, your phone cover will be coming home soon as long as I can get around to it. If not, I'll have it for you at T-Giving. Miss you!

Summer Lilly!

Today with the last of my "spending" graduation money (that I am now not allowed to touch!) I treated myself to 2 Lilly Summer dresses that I can take to sunny South Carolina. One is the patchy Jubilee dress with the cool back, and I'm totally excited! I can't wait to wear this one out and about!

The other dress I got was the throwback-ish shift in a totally Lilly pink and green print that I love. It is more casual than the Jubilee dress, and there are even white bows along the front!
It it super cute and long enough for my tallness too! I am so excited about both of these purchases and I'm sure it helped for business for the Store on a rainy, gloomy day! And to make the purchase even sweeter, I had a $10 store credit!!! I am so pumped and I can't wait to rock these at work and around!

Happy Summer Lilly Shopping!

Stars for Lilly: A Colorful Cause

Recently, as I'm sure you've all seen in recent LP emails, ads, and other forms of communication, I'm sure you've noticed the Lilly Summer 2009 Jubilee lines made by the stars! I think this is such a fun idea for branching out! Two of my favorites were the Brooke Shields for Lilly and Elizabeth Filarski Hasselbeck (I'll always remember her as Filarksi from Survivor and The Look for Less). The Brook Shields design is too cute:Not to mention, the picture is too cute!! A very cute mommy-and-me combination for the summer. Actually, I do believe that all the lines are some sort of matching combo for older girls and younger girls, there's even a Gwyneth Paltrow swimwear set for a son too! That's the main advertisement for the actress' lines for Lilly.

Another one of my favorites was the Elizabeth Hasselbeck. She is a very preppy celebrity, seen here with the fabulous in pink Sarah Palin: What a cute preppy duo! Love both of them in their pink and green! Elizabeth's line is another darling addition to the Lilly Summer 2009 Jubilee line! I will always be partial to a pink LP anything, though! This trio is the same group/"family" that models the Gwyneth Paltrow line on the same jetty.

As People Magazine reports, Lilly is sponsoring "A Colorful Cause: Celebrity Designer Program, which honors the label’s 50th anniversary by supporting The Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation". Kudos to LP for this wonderful cause and teaming up with some fab celebrities to make these designs!
