Lilly & Rue La La

While some people weren't very successful on the RLL sale, I was able to snatch up this dress for $30! I had a credit on RLL and got this Bowen from summer:
I really lusted after this dress from Summer but it was out of my price range even with my employee benefits. I tried it on time and time again but never made the decision. By the time it went on sale, my size had be snatched up! I was lucky enough to find this on Rue La La AND I had a $50 credit to my name so I couldn't pass it up! I rarely find things that are my style on RLL, so when I saw the Lilly sale come around I made sure to check it out! I'm very pleased with my completely guilt free new dress!!

Fall & Winter Skirts on a Budget

I'm getting very into skirts for fall and winter. I'd much rather wear a skirt or dress with tights than pants. Sometimes it's not as warm and cozy, but I like the way it looks a lot! Here are a few of my choices for super cute skirts that won't kill your budget!
Forever21: $24.80
I love the mauve color for fall! It's so feminine!
Target: on sale for $17.48
I think this skirt looks way more expensive than about $18. Cute shoes too!

Old Navy: on sale for $25.00
Think of all the different tops that you could wear with this. The ruffles make it so much fun and festive!
Forever21: $19.80
How great would this be for the holidays? Lovin' that color with a black turtleneck or something!
Old Navy: on sale for $22.99
Corduroy is so great for colder temps. I have an awesome VV pink one and I wear it all the time! This brown is so versatile too!
Forever21: $22.80
I'm such a bow fan and I this this looks great with those black pumps. Definitely an fan of this one!
Forever21: $15.80
I actually own this one and I love it! If you purchase this one though, be careful about what you wear under it (like tights) because the edges of the skirt pull a little on the material that tights are made of.

Target: $26.99
I think the basketweave in this is fabulous for winter time. I was out shopping with a friend of mine over the weekend and we saw a great jacket like this too at White House Black Market.

Agree? Where do you snag cute skirts?

Lilly Shoe Steals!

I had some time to spare tonight between getting ready for classes this week grocery shopping, and organizing my room so I did a little online browsing. I found so many great Lilly shoe deals all over the internet:
I. Want. These. They have a size 10 for half price on PreppyOutlet!!! If you're a size 10, these may not be available soon...oops. These are like great TB knockoffs while still being Lilly and adorable. Not only that, but they're flat enough for me so that it doesn't add too much height for me. The gold would go with so many different things, and transition into fall and even winter...oh man!!

Both navy and white McKims are on PO too! I have coveted both pairs at times this summer, but I've stuck with Jacks instead. Now that they're half price as well, we're talking about a different ball game! The pearlized pink ones are super cute too, but unfortunately they're not in my size! Too bad!

These gold flats are on sale at 6pm.com! I love the pink details on these, and I'd have to see if a 9.5 could work, but these are super cute! Pewter is available as well, but I know I'd wear gold more.

Spaghetti strap McKims are on sale at Splash of Pink for almost half price! They have SO many color options: black, white, silver, limeade, turquoise, daiquiri pink, and gold! You can even TEXT them to see if they have your color and size combo available!!!

Sorry the photo is so funny shaped, but at Smart Bargains, they have these super fun flats available! They're not only half price, but 74% off! What a deal! Silver is also available in the same shoe!

SB also has these flip flops at 68% off ringing up at just under $12! That's a deal if I ever heard one!

Lilly's Endless Summer Sale!

What did you guys pick up from this AMAZING sale?! I just love the colors they used in this ad too!

Since I'm a broke college student, all I did was online browse, but I found some choices that I would have picked up in a hot second if I was still in shopping mode:

I would have snatched up this Adelson Shift for $119. I LOVE the Hotty Pink Floral Punch print, and the Adelson is a great cut. It's super flattering and this would have been great to take into fall by pulling out the great orange hues!

I have found one of my new favorite Lilly styles: the Betsey! This strapless dress is a tad short for me, but so much fun for summer. I love the cut and waist where it hits. This dress does tend to stretch out a little, so definitely order appropriately! Also Prep Green Hit the Spot is a great print when it's on!

I've never seen the Tenley Shift, so I don't know much about it, but the print is too much fun! Plus, I'm totally a sucker for a shift dress, so this would be great!

This is another Betsey and the color combo is the best! Pink and white are so much fun, but unfortunately I don't think this would get much wear this late in the season. It's a little too formal for anything I have for the rest of the hot season, but definitely adorable!

Did anyone pick up anything good? What all happened with the problematic sales...did you still get what you had hoped for? Fill a girl in!

Semi-Annual Sale Steals!

So my good friends over at Victoria's Secret, helped me out BIG time in adding some great pieces to my closet! As part of the half yearly sale (...or I guess semi-annual sale if we're getting particular. I always get it confused with the GREAT sale Nordstrom has that's called half-yearly.), I ordered 7 dresses (yes, you heard me correctly...7) and my average price was $19.67! Some of the dresses values (not on sale) were as much as $69.00 full price. I'd say I definitely got a good deal if you ask me! Not only are the VS dresses great quality, but they're always nicely fitting because of the cotton/spandex combination. They come in a gigantic range of colors too! Here are some of the ones I got:
I got this one in pink and it's ruched on both side which you can't see from the photo. It is super cute in person, but it's a little on the tight side. I'm sure I'll just have to wear it a little (which won't be hard!!)!

I got this dress in the blue color of the choices. It's my favorite one that I got!! I have blue eyes, and my mom always insists that blue is the most flattering color on girls with blue eyes. In this dress, I can't disagree! It is a really nice shape and not too a-line. As a huge plus, all the VS strapless dresses have this great sticky rubber that keeps the tops up too!

While I was shopping I told myself that I wouldn't buy all pink dresses since (no joke) about 85% of my clothes are pink. I decided that blues and turquoises would make great summer dresses that could double as going out dresses once I get back to school since the weather at night is perfect for this kinda stuff! I ended up getting this dress along with the others, and I was a little hesitant, but I really like this one too!

I got this dress in this exact color combo and it's adorable in person! I also got it in a key lime/hot pink combination (the main part is the key lime green) and it's great. They're a little bit short for me, but totally fine for the summer weather! Imagine either one with a great necklace and I'll be all set!!

I LOVE this dress! Of all the ones, no matter what your body shape is, I'd recommend this one. It is so much fun! I love bandeau bathing suits in this shape, and I figured the VS dresses wouldn't disappoint. They sure didn't! This was the second of the all-pink dresses (which hmm 2/7 I'd say is fair) and I know I'll wear it a lot. Hot pink is such a good summer color and I can wear it with like 10 pairs of shoes I have. I'm just thinking about this with an adorable pair of hot pink kate spade seahorse shoes I have!

I got this dress in this turquoise color, but unfortunately I returned it. It didn't look like the photo at all and the ruffles looked frumpy. It was the only online exchange I had. I decided that I liked one of the other strapless ones in blue better. This dress did though, have an adorable racerback which would have been adorable. It may have just been the dress that I received, but it was also too short for me to even try to keep.

I don't do too too much online shopping, but our Victoria's Secret doesn't have a lot of clothing beyond PINK items, swim wear (seasonally), and workout gear. My mom had gotten me a great one shoulder ruched dress that I LOVE and it fits perfectly, so I was lucky enough to know my size going into my online shopping (I would highly recommend this dress to anyone, but specifically if your school dresses up for football games! It is super comfortable and offered in LOTS of southern football colors ladies!).

The Lilly Warehouse Sale Results Are In!

Today, as I told you all a few days ago, my mom, sister, friend Emma, Emma's friend Catherine, Emma's mom and I all went to the fabulous LP Warehouse sale in King of Prussia, PA! It was a wonderful time that we all shared together!

We all got up very early so that we could drive in the morning and make it a pretty fast shopping trip. And when I mean early, I mean it-was-still-dark-out early. After hitting a little bit of traffic (which we learned was from an accident that temporarily shut down I-95), we finally made it to the craziness that was the Valley Forge Convention Center. Our very first sight was this:
That my friends, is the complete lack of any line to get in. We couldn't believe it!! We then shopped till we dropped and all came back with purchases (my mom included)!! It was freezing cold the entire time, but we all managed to enjoy the trip. Minus the awful "fitting rooms" which is really just one huge awkward area where all ages of girls and women are trying on LP clothes. It feels like a massive locker room, but everyone managed to stay semi-private, and I was certainly warned by both blogworld, and Emma's mom who is a LP Warehouse sale veteran. Emma and her mom have been going since Emma was 9 and she's now entering college.

That's my sister Grace (who designed the new blog layout if you remember) with one of her purchases! She looks adorable in this top when she's actually wearing it, but here she's being a total camera goofball and posing while we waited for our shopping companions to finish up!
Here she is again showing off purchase #2. Purchases #3 and #4 were a tote bag and cosmetic case respectively. Neither were introduced to LP stores, but instead (we think) were cut for the sale! I know some people were complaining about the prices of this year's sale, but look at this unbelievable deal that Emma got for a friend of hers:

She got this Charles Blazer for:
$29.00!
Can you believe that!? From $595.00 (which is crazy to begin with) to $29.00!! This was a GREAT deal no matter what anyone has to say!!!

Now I naturally had to save the best for last! My own purchases!! We certainly didn't go wild at the sale, but I managed to grab the equivalent to 4 new outfits for myself:

I got two dresses, a halter top and a skirt!

I am LOVING this strapless dress! I never saw this in-store and I'm not sure if this Betsey Dress ever went into true production, but I'm now the proud owner of this one!

I also never saw this top in production, but at $39 I couldn't resist. It was the perfect length on me and fit me in the top, so really I couldn't put it down. Those two are a RARE combo for me, plus it'll look really nice with a few pieces in my closet!

I also snagged a Nadja dress which I know exists because it's actually in the store that I work in! I love my red Nadja dress from last year, and I had to grab another one. I couldn't find any weird things wrong with it, it still has the sash and both of the sash holders are working, so I kept this gem too!

Last but definitely not least, I got this skirt too! It's called Simple Skirt, and I don't think I ever saw it before at the store. It's made from a great polka dot material that you can see faintly in some of the pink areas in this photo. It is an awesome summery material that will get many, many uses!!

Please post the things that you picked up at the sale!! Were any of you there today?! I'd love to see how everyone else did at this crazy sale! Best of luck to the rest of the shoppers this week!

Lilly Warehouse Sale Time and a (mini) Life Update

Hi all! I've been so busy this week already and it's only Tuesday! One of my closest friends from school and I are going on a MAJOR roadtrip (9+ hours!!) from my house to school at the end of the month so I've been doing all kinds of things in prep for that. She's flying down from Cincinnati where she's from and then to here and then we'll head from BWI to Columbia!! I cannot wait to see her and all the people who are still there for the summer!
Here we are at the big award ceremony for Ambassadors this year! How fab is she?!

On to more pressing business though, is the wonderful Lilly Sale this week!! I cannot wait to hear updates about how everyone's went on these very busy days!! My mom, sister, future Gamecock Emma, and her mom are all going on THURSDAY (if you're going that day shoot me an email, maybe we can meet up super fast if time permits!!) to the sale in KOP. Emma and her mom are Warehouse sale veterans so hopefully they'll know their way around much better than we will!

I am VERY excited to see what they have to offer us! I'm especially excited about all the random stuff that they might have too like the GWP stuff and items that we're cut for the season, but are there to look through!!

Anyone else going? Have you gotten any steals or goodies so far?? I'd love to know so fill me in!

xxKatie

PS: Anyone excited for REGIONALS TONIGHT ON GLEE?!? I SURE AM!!
